About Dear Motorcycle Enthusiast

The Riders & Writers

Hey there! Welcome to Dear Motorcycle Enthusiast, where we document our two-wheeled adventures. We're Jessica and Mark, a poet and a scientist who share a deep love for the open road and the perfect lean into a curve.

I (Jessica) published a chapbook of poems in 2020 called Dear Motorcycle Enthusiast that brings together my two favorite things: riding motorcycles and writing poems. After years of enjoying the passenger perspective, I decided it was time to take the controls myself and chose a Moto Guzzi V7 as my first bike.

Mark has been riding for years and pilots his BMW R1200R with the precision you'd expect from a scientist. He's the route-planner extraordinaire and has a knack for finding the roads less traveled that always turn out to be the most memorable.

Our Adventures

We do a lot of long weekends moto-camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia, and we try to take at least one long trip a year. Some of our favorite adventures have taken us from our home base in Louisville, Kentucky, to New Mexico, Michigan, and Canada. In 2024, I rode my Guzzi on our annual trek to the Vintage Motorcycle Festival at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.
